Job Purpose
 The System Administrator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure, supporting teaching, learning, and the daily operational needs of our school community. This position requires a highly motivated and skilled individual with a strong understanding of server administration, network management, and end-user support.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Configures and troubleshoots network and wireless infrastructure, Internet connectivity, and all other elements of the campus technology infrastructure
  • Performs server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security, permissions, group policies, print services, server event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitors datacenter using preexisting management tools and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including but not excluded to servers, routers, switches, firewalls, printers, phones, security updates, support internet, LANs, WANs, and network segments
  • Actively interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support as needed
  • Maintains systems environment including:
    • Imaging and deployment of computers and mobile devices using JAMF
    • Maintaining servers, network, and wireless equipment
    • Maintaining printing infrastructure
  • Manages projects and communicates status in a timely fashion 
  • Manages documentation, processes, and procedures
  • Manages dependable IT infrastructure and networking 
  • Partners with internal and external partners to communicate project status, activities, and achievements
  • Helpdesk duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS 
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology and computer science required
  • Experience in project management
  • Minimum of 2 years of server/network infrastructure and network security support 
  • Experience with supporting Windows Server 2012/2016, Ubuntu Server 16
  • Experience with Cisco networking, Meraki preferred
  • Experience in troubleshooting and supporting wired infrastructure (copper and fiber)
  • Experience managing Active Directory
  • Experience with supporting Mac OS and Windows
  • Experience with server virtualization, specifically VMWare
  • Experience with cloud backup solutions
  • Experience with Meraki wireless solutions.
  • Experience supporting Google Workspace for Education, Dropbox, and other cloud-based environments.
  • Experience with JAMF device management and SSO solutions.
  • Familiarity with network-connected multifunction printers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
